Woman comes in with Laptop that she purchased a year ago from my company. She calls first inquiring about a motherboard for the laptop after bringing it into Best Buy. Best Buy told her that the motherboard was bad.

 

After a lot of disparaging comments about my company, Microsoft etc I look at it. Her Dog had bitten thru the wire which she tried to fix but messed up. After checking Motherboard I FIXED her laptop by Fixing the Power Wire she screwed up.

 

This Woman didn’t want to pay the $60 dollar bill, even though Best Buy said the Laptop was gone. That is the 2^nd dell that Best Buy said was bad but was fixed at a nominal charge.

 

 

People wonder where the good techs go and I for one am thinking of a new line of business. It seems the DUMBER the client the more abusive they are. The 22 year old woman who informed me that Anti Virus Software was not need in computers.

When unplugging laptop from power my resoultion would go unreadable. Simple fix is to turn off the Intel Power Saver located by clicking on there Icon lower right. Now when the laptop is unplugged it'll still keep its resoultion. This is for Windows 7,

I installed Windows 7 on a Lattitude d610 Laptop with a Gig of Ram. Fast, Fast, I'm remoting into my Vista system, and playing a Office Video Feed. This is what We had hoped for, and Microsoft has delivered. Looks a lot like Vista, but without as many of the security problems. The biggest problem with Vista was Memory use. Windows 7 has that fixed. This test version is running with very few problems.

 

Upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 is NOT possible, only upgradeable from Vista. Hopefully Microsoft makes this upgradeable from XP, sort of make up for the screw ups in Vista. I'll reccomend this upgrade for the security and ease of use. Lot's of new features, and fixes on the ones that didn't quite work. Good Job Microsoft.

                  I rarely comment badly about a company, but Verizon is the exception. Verizon’s service in Florida is so poor the State of Florida Fined them Millions of Dollars because of there service lapses. 3 weeks ago a client asked the Verizon Telephone Repairman who he recommended for high speed internet. His answer: Anybody but Verizon. Yesterday I’m doing a wireless network job. The service person promised to call right back after resetting there modem. You guessed it, NO CALL FROM VERIZON.

 

This company is losing clients quickly with no end in sight . I’m thinking of charging double for Verizon wireless installations. It always takes double or triple the time compared to Brighthouse or Knology. My recommendation: Run from Verizon. This company will do nothing but SCREW you & your wallet.

It appears that Business using PayPal are being targeted by the fraudsters. Because of PayPal’s LACK OF PROTECTION, YOU the small businessman will be the loser. Client comes in, you do the work, and give the product, and customer either uses a stolen card or claims they never received it.

 

Be Warned. I was losing $350 a month to these scamsters. The Police are NO help so it’s up to you. Anybody STUPID enough to use PayPal, should get used to money being yanked out of there account.

 

I Fired PayPal in March of 2008, PayPal contacts my company in June and states a credit card charge had been reversed because of a stolen credit card on January 6, 2008. Over 6 months and PayPal was after that money. Never notified us so we could settle the dispute. PayPal has turned out to be the SCUMIEST COMPANY I’ve ever delt with, similar to AOL of the 90’s.

 

The States Attorneys MUST be taking pay offs from PayPal JUST as they did with AOL. Google PayPal, millions of COMPLAINTS. I hired an Attorney and I’ll update you as I proceed against the 2000’s scumbag company PAYPAL.

(Vista)   Download the Cover and save to your Documents.   Next just right click your desktop away from any icons and go to personalize. Go to the Desktop BackGround and open the folder where you saved the file. Next check the “Stretch” option (or the picture on the left). This Works for Vista.

Just uninstall the present user (in your PC Palm Program) and add new user. When Sync opens it’ll ask if you want to create new user(create a new user). Then the program recreates your original account, Syncs and ends . Looks like the Databases are corrupt or a Null Bit problem. This is the quick fix.

 

And you thought Microsoft had problems.

Its the Anti Virus causing the problems. Try the Control-Alt-Delete,,,doesn't work. Uninstall the Anti Virus try the Control-Alt-Delete, Works fast right. Download Avast Anti Virus and your back up and running. Most Anti Viruses are being affected except Avast.

Looks like the Anti Virus (Maybe just CA) is the culprit. I'm running full speed, user settings back to default. Avast AV will get my PC through these bad days of Vista.

The Avast Ran Great but I wasn't finished. Uninstalled Avast, reinstalled CA again, SAME PROBLEMS. Black Screen of Death, The Vista FREEZE. Interesting thing, after having the Vista Fully updated, and after I installed CA, Microsoft wanted to put in an additional update.

 

Bottom Line: CA 2008 Anti Virus and Vista Ultimate , fully updated do not run properly. Uninstall your anti virus and download Avast: (Link Below)http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html  

 

Looks like Microsoft is pushing out Software whether it's been thoroughly debugged or not. Microsoft needs to get it right first, not keep looking at the timeframe. I really think Microsoft will put themselves out of business if they keep hurrying this software out. If it's not right DO NOT SHIP YOUR Software Microsoft. Another misstep like Vista and you'll see viable competitors coming out of the woodwork. The Operating System is a TOOL, it better work right. I don't need the fancy crap, just an OS that works.....

 

Office 2007 was and is a joke. Make all your loyal users relearn a word processing program?? Wake up Microsoft, Your customers expect an upgrade, not a totally new interface. What were you thinking? My clients come in now asking when XP will quit selling so they can down date there OS (Down Date= Buying a Vista and down grading to Windows XP) Were ordering more XP's and Office 2003s and will have them in stock.

 

Bill Gates, Microsoft needs you. Start checking out your products before shipping them. Your company was known for INOVATION. Microsoft does not need to be apple, it needs to be reliable. The Innovation and interaction between partners was what propelled Microsoft through the first have of this decade. Something happened and now Microsoft looks straight at the buck$$ and not at the partners or consumers. Stop giving the partners and customers 2nd best. Not giving out Vista Ultimate to the partners was a real sign. 2 hour download updates are another signal.

 

Microsofts concern for security is the ONLY saving grace for Microsoft. There is not another operating system I'd trust my documents and commerce too but Microsoft. Don't rest on your laurels Microsoft, Vista upset lots of your clients and partners, this will take years to overcome. Better start now Microsoft .

                This "503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA error" can be caused by not have the “Outgoing Server Requires Authenication “ box not checked, or the login credentials in mixed case, not in ALL lower case.

Go to Outlook , More Settings, Outgoing Server. Check the Authenication Box, maxe sure login name is lower case then test settings.
