4/17/2007 Running Office on your Server is DANGEROUS.Running Office on your Server is DANGEROUS. Why put on a program that is not being used on a Server? There’s no need wasting the expense & vulnerabilities with that software. Microsoft Office has roughly 25-30 Vulnerabilities and Patches to fix those vulnerabilities. You don’t need Office on your server to share documents and files. The Network Administrator has Notepad & WordPad to write or read notes. Why waste the time & money on the program that Nobodies going to use. I get worried about the Vulnerabilities those programs carry and how those vulnerabilities will affect my server. Bottom Line: Servers should only have programs that have to be run off of it. It’s hard enough keeping the server safe; don’t add programs to complicate things.
NOTE: Washington Post recently said Mac’s don’t have Viruses. Bull….Mac’s have Viruses, spyware and popups. |
