uce@ftc.org Does not work!

I’m getting back every e-mail spams sent to uce@ftc.org. Symantec is sending this: --- The message cannot be delivered to the following address. ---

uce@ftc.org    Mailbox unknown or not accepting mail.

550 uce@ftc.org... No such user

Is our US Government using Symantec? What a mistake, as evidenced by there returning hundreds of spams . Like everything in the United States Government, this e-mail address will be blocked by Symantec for years. Someone at the FTC not working? Couldn’t imagine that. Someone at Symantec looking for a job, You can bet on it.

Keep fighting the Spam fight by reporting those scum buckets to there ISP and everyone else possible. The ISP DO take action.

Microsoft, why do you continue to be soooo, Stupid? Turn Off Your Microsoft Updates

Once again Microsoft thinks they own my Computer. One of there updates just restarted my computer without my consent or knowledge. Microsoft thinks there the Government. They know better than you and dictate your business. I just lost 3 hours of Web work. The new Microsoft updates rebooted my computer without my consent.

If you didn’t have hundreds of updates, requiring many rebootings you’d be a better company. I’m so sick of Microsoft rebooting MY computers whenever they please.

If you do lots of work on your computers, Turn OFF the Automatic Updates. I write this blog 4-5 times a year, just after Microsoft reboots my computers. Microsoft does your employees have to be so STUPID? Is Vista going to have Hundreds of Updates? Linux looks better & better everyday

The Danger of Music/Video Sharing Programs

Music Sharing programs are the major cause of viral infections in computers.  I’d been advising my clients as to the danger of ALL file sharing programs for some time. More & More evidence is pointing to the bot-infections coming from the file sharing programs.

The only way around this is to have one computer do all the music & video file sharing. Have the other PC’s connect to the Music & Video PC to listen to the music. This still has levels of risk that I’m uncomfortable with. Best bet is to buy the music and back it up at least on 2 different Hard Drives or even 2 different computers.

This Article will give you a better picture of the dangers involved having Music/Video file sharing programs on you computer. http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1980963,00.asp

Vista needs lots of Ram Memory

I really thought Vista was a dog, a real slow dog. I was running on a 2.4 Pentium 4 with a Gig of Ram. I added an additional 512 mgs of ram bringing my machine up to a gig and a half. What was a slow dog is really a nice operating system. Vista with ample amounts of Ram & Video Ram are the answers. I’m running the release Candidate which I’m sure has some bugs. My Inspiron Laptop has NO video card, but does just fine. My Rating is a 1 because of the lack of Video Ram.

My Vista now runs fine, With a Gig of Ram it was a dog. Ram is the big determinant in speed with processor L1 & L2 cache. I’m really enjoying Vista and NOW plan to use it as my primary work horse. New Technology in Vista stops ALL Root Kits. That’s the best news I’ve heard. I’d now have to say with all the new threats on the Internet; Vista is the only solution that attempts to stay ahead of the Internet ScumBalls

Spammers are going down, Read about Arrests

We’re getting the spammers, specifically the Pump & Dumps. Read: http://www.sptimes.com/2006/11/08/Business/E_mail_stock_scam_mak.shtml

We’ve been asked to forward ALL Pump & Dumps to spamnasd.com  or spam@nasd.com . Let’s continue after these scum & thieves because if allowed, they will steal your last dime.

I’ve personally have turned in hundreds of Pump & Dump spam’s since I started this project just a week ago. My spam has been reduced almost 70% in just a week. These results can be easily obtained by careful reporting.  Read: http://computerrepairstpete.spaces.live.com/?_c11_blogpart_blogpart=blogview&_c=blogpart&partqs=amonth%3d10%26ayear%3d2006   for the instructions. And check http://www.AbacusComputer.us

A typical e-mail spam can be forwarded to : abuse@cnc-noc.net; spam@nasd.com;  (enforcement@sec.gov) The first one is a Chinese ISP, the second one is NASDQ, the third one is the Security & Exchange Commission. I love the Pump & Dump Spammers because all three of the above want these types of messages sent to them....

Have it YOUR way! Google makes it happen

Vacation day 4. I found Google’s Homepage builder. (http://www.google.com/ig/directory?hl=en )  What a neat way to customize your home page. I can add or delete anything from horoscopes to Hacker news. Since the first thing I go to is my browser, Google has all my important news, right there. If I get bored with one I can delete it and add another one. Working in IT, I miss the forest for the trees.

From the looks of it I could spend weeks using Google’s ever changing variety of tools, all for FREE. Microsoft has stopped POP3 support for non-paying outlook users, Google’s is free with 20 gigs of storage & POP3. Because MSN comes as default on ALL computers it has a lot of initial page looks.

Watching MSNs latest offerings, reminds me more of the early spy ware companies. Lots of balloons, and other methods to make you look at there ads. People hate to be pushed in any direction, and MSN is getting really close to that edge. Google still remains cool, never pushing, just doing the best it can. I’m the boss, Google’s home page is MY homepage, just the way I like it.

I really critical of MSN because there not run with the ideals of Microsoft. The MSN staff is untouchable thru there lack of e-mail support or phone support. If you want the best product you must take the criticism and grow from it. MSN’s staff shields itself and acts like a separate company. Microsoft is an awesome company, and an awesome company to be a partner for. The Microsoft staff bends over backwards to help you jump thru there bureaucracy. They have too, they have accountability.

My recommendation, fire the entire MSN staff. The content is mostly the same with Slade etc. Reward a couple high achieving Microsoft staffers, give them MSN as an assignment. Let MSN become the first place to look for anything computer. Integrate outlook with the browser so I can read my mail while glancing at the latest news & alerts. Let me edit my content, easily. Give me a reason to go to MSN, not the same old stuff. Contests are cool too.

Instead of being a gatekeeper with hotmail, provide telephone support & POP3. It feels like MSN is doing you a favor with hotmail. Years ago, MSN tried to get rid of POP3 and put it back, after customer outrage. Why do it again, 5 years later? As MSN loses customers, they can only blame themselves for being customer unfriendly.

Spam down 70% in what, 6 Days

On the 31 of October I wrote about reporting the Spammers. In 6 days, my spam has been reduced 70%. I’ve spent part of my working vacation going after these e-mailing Scum with a vengeance. I’ve reported many spammers twice, to the ISP (Internet Service Provider) & the SEC for the old Pump & Dumps stock schemes.

By Reporting these E-Mailing Scum to the ISP, they can and will shut these people off the internet. 3 years ago I did this while in school, most of the spam originated from the United States. I’m happy to report that the US accounted for less than 7% while Mexico, China, and Romania were the heavy SPAMMERS.

By following my directions on the earlier blogs, you too, can slow down the spam. If everyone on the internet would spend 10 minutes a day reporting the e-mailing scum, the world would be a better place. OK we’d get less crap and more legit e-mails.
