I’m running the Vista Business 64 bit with the Turion. This is as fast or faster than any PC I’ve seen or worked on. AMD has always been a premier chip maker and this processor will help in the lineup. The beauty of the Dual-core processor is its mobility. AMD engineers have made the Turion very energy efficient hence better battery life. http://multicore.amd.com/us-en/AMD-Multi-Core/Products/Notebook-PC.aspx The reason for the extra speed is the HyperTransport model designed by AMD. http://www.hypertransport.org/tech/index.cfm Better Multi Tasking by utilizing the specfic cores. There’s NO reason today, not to look at the AMD processors. There basically better, faster, cheaper. Without them Intel would be charging double for their chips. New York State has subpoenaed Intel for price fixing today, matter of fact. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9056718&source=NLT_PM&nlid=8

The Vista was painfully slow and I switched to XP Pro. I still wasn’t satisfied with the XP and decided to try the 64 Bit Vista Business. Wow, what an improvement. The Laptop starts faster, closes quicker and generally runs much faster doing processor intensive programs. Vista’s not as bad as I thought, if you’re using the Operating System designed for the Hardware your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) built. This 64 bit Vista is a big improvement over the 32 bit Vista Home shipped with the laptop. Don’t cheap out and get the least expensive operating system for your hardware. Microsoft gives you the ability to tailor make your computer. The 64 bit Microsoft Vista Business is a darn good operating system. With a couple changes you can make it run like XP but with most of the security intact. Why Microsoft hasn’t defended or promoted the proper operating system with the hardware is a mystery to me. If you have a 64 bit system strongly consider using the Operating System designed for that Computer. Take the Challenge, before giving up on Vista and Microsoft, install the 64 bit version. I knew Microsoft was too good to produce slop, I was right. I’m receiving many calls inquiring if we fix Apple Computers? No we don’t. I may be taking Apple classes soon, but with my new found love of Vista, I’ll wait. Don’t forget to visit http://www.AbacusComputer.us |
